You'd better consult the embassy directly.

The Admission Notice from a Chinese university or school is must. Then other documents include valid passport, photos, completed visa application form, etc. If X1 visa, then "Visa Application for Study in China" (Form JW201 or Form JW202) is also needed.

Good day, I am a South African who has been employed by a Chinese company. Can I apply online for an E-Visa and do I then still need to make an appointment to visit the Chinese Consulate in Johannesburg?

I'm sorry but there is no e-visa available and you need to make an appointment on line and go to the China visa application service center in person.

S1 Visa
Can you please give me more information on how to apply as a family for our visas. Can we make one appointment? It's for my husbands Z visa and my own S1 visa and two kids S1 visas.

Regards,
R, Perrin

You need to fill in 4 application forms for each of you, but can make one appointment to lodge the submission together. Good luck~
