10 Best Patio Furniture Stores for Your Outdoor Living Space

Upgrade your summer with these picks.

Walmart / Anthropologie

When the weather is nice, eating, relaxing, and entertaining al fresco is one of the first things people look forward to—especially if they live in a climate that only gets a few months (or weeks) of sunshine a year. One way to ensure you really enjoy that time outside is to create an outdoor space that feels as homey and comfortable as your indoor space—which means finding the best patio furniture for the job.

We all have our go-to resources for furniture, but when we're buying for our yards, patios, or porches, it can be hard to navigate that all-weather landscape. The same stores that make our favorite indoor pieces don't necessarily design for outdoors, and there's a whole different set of vocabulary that goes with weather-proof furniture (for example, descriptors like powder-coated, sealed, and UV-protective are all great things to look for). Decades ago, patio furniture consisted largely of heavy metal tables and not-so-comfy wood chairs, but brands are now creating pieces so beautiful that you could use them in or out.

If you're getting ready to set up the ultimate outdoor space, we'll tell you exactly where to look. We've rounded up some of our favorite sources for stylish outdoor furniture, so whether you're shopping for a full set or simply a quirky accent piece, you'll find it. Now get out there!

1 Mainstays Seaton Creek 3-Piece Patio Set

You can find pretty much anything at Walmart, so it's no surprise that they also have a giant selection of patio furniture. You can shop by piece, material, or prospective location (porch, patio, or pool) to find the right items for your space. Plus, while you're on the site, you can also shop Ree Drummond's The Pioneer Woman gear—it's a win-win.

This weather-proof steel three-piece set is super affordable and comes in a fun blue that we think Ree would love.

2 Martine Ceramic Stool

Anthropologie's patio furniture looks the way their clothes do: boho and stylish. Their outdoor pieces are so pretty that most of them are suggested for indoor or outdoor use and would look right at home in a fairly formal living room.

The store carries a curated array of outdoor furniture plus rugs, planters, umbrellas, and chic outdoor entertaining gear like these melamine plates that look like ceramic.

These stools are made of glazed earthenware, and each is one is unique. Keep in mind, though, that they're a bit delicate, so wipe them down with water only and store them inside when not being used.

3 Quality Outdoor Living Savannah Seating Set

Yes, you can get outdoor furniture using Amazon Prime, but the selection for immediate delivery is only a fraction of the huge variety of items they stock. If you're looking to outfit an entire yard, they actually carry gazebos and pools, which is kind of amazing.

For those of us shopping on a budget (everyone) or trying to find something very specific, Amazon carries patio sets and one-off pieces in all styles and sizes (they carry literally hundreds of outdoor brands). If you can't find it here, it might not exist.

This four-piece set is hand-woven and comes with these royal blue cushions. It's a serious amount of furniture for less than $400!

4 Farmhouse Table
L.L. Bean

This all-American brand makes classic outdoor furniture in the same New England style as their clothes, footwear, and sporting gear. We know this probably isn't the first place that comes to mind for outdoor furniture, but you should check it out.

This table looks like wood, but is actually made of polyethylene so it won't splinter or warp. The matching chairs are sold separately, two for $429.

5 Bondi Outdoor Lounge Chair & Ottoman Set
West Elm

Everyone loves West Elm for their trendy home furnishings, but they have a pretty impressive outdoor selection too. For people who prefer modern and mid-century modern style, this place is a dream. They carry trendy, but sturdy, pieces along with pillows, plates, lighting, and rugs.

This chair and ottoman set, made of acacia and woven wicker in a cool diamond pattern, is flat-out gorgeous. It also ships in as few as four days, which is pretty amazing for larger pieces of furniture.

6 Boynton 3-Piece Bar Set

It's always five o'clock somewhere, and you may as well celebrate that in your own backyard. Wayfair has everything you could possibly need for your patio in a huge range of prices. It also sells fire pits and greenhouses—there's no end to all the things you can order on this site.

Most of their pieces look classic with simple lines, like this wood and metal mini-bar. It has two shelves for holding bottles or servingware and is the perfect way to bring the party outside.

7 Tavern Stacking Bistro Chair
Pottery Barn

Pottery Barn is one of those go-to places people shop for interior furniture that has nearly just as much variety in its outdoor offerings. Just like with their indoor pieces, Pottery Barn's outdoor collection is full of calming colors and easy-to-match neutrals. The site has a ton of examples of how to mix and match different materials.

This is a classic chair that goes with nearly any kind of table, so we're excited that it comes in an outdoor-friendly, rust-free option.

8 Outdoor Hanging Chair
Michael Valdez

If we could escape into a photo, it would be this one. Serena & Lily is probably best known for their linens and rugs, but also makes beachy outdoor pieces that feature lots of blues and tans. Even if you aren't staring out at the ocean, their pieces fit seamlessly in any space and create a calming oasis.

Hanging chairs were big in the '60s, and now they're back with a vengeance. This one looks like rattan, but is actually made of powder-coated aluminum, so it will stay swinging for years to come.

9 Verro Green Outdoor Dining Chair
Crate and Barrel

Crate & Barrel is known for its modern furnishings and clean lines, and its outdoor collection has that same aesthetic. Many of the pieces come in tons of color and fabric options (using Sunbrella weather-proof fabric), so it's a smart place to shop if you're trying to match items you already own.

The furniture is generally a mix of timeless and modern, but some outdoor pieces skew a bit boho, like this green resin woven chair. It would work great at a dining table, but is bold enough to stand on its own.

10 Natural Wood Outdoor Potting Bench
World Market

This California-based brand knows what it's doing with outdoor furniture. World Market has incredible prices and it never shies away from using color, texture, or pattern.

If your taste is more eclectic (but you're still price-conscious), this site is a home run. It sells straightforward pieces like classic benches, but it also has items that play to the modern, bohemian, and traditional preferences in all of us.

Potting benches are underrated, and this one especially deserves attention. The price is great for acacia wood and it has a foldout surface for extra space. Don't have a green thumb? It would make a great bar.
