Chengdu City Bus
Nowadays, nearly 14,000 Chengdu city buses run along more than 750 routes, serving a total of 1.5 billion passengers each year. With low travel expenses and frequent departures, the city bus has become one of the main modes of transportation locally. In addition to the regular city buses, there are also fast buses (BRT), sightseeing buses, and night buses, etc.
Numbered from 1 to 900+, and sometimes with an English letter suffix, they make up the major part of Chengdu’s city buses and cover almost every corner of the city, including scenic spots, snack streets, tour bus center, shopping places, hospitals, schools, supermarkets, and residential blocks, etc.
Schedule of Regular Chengdu City Bus Lines: Most of them start running at 06:30 and stop after 20:00 or 21:00, while some start as early as at 05:45 and stop after 23:00.
Here below is a list of the bus lines to major sites in the city:
Presently, there are 14 fast city bus lines named with “K”. K means “Kuai (快)” in Chinese and fast in English. As the name indicates, they run at higher speeds than regular city buses. Distance between their stops is also longer, at an average of about 1,000 meters (1,100 yards). All of them are running along the Second Ring Road of the city.

Ticket fare & How to Pay: The ticket fare is CNY 2 per person. It is the same as regular bus lines, either by cash, transportation card, Wechat or Alipay.
They run directly to the attraction sites without any stop, which is the most convenient for independent travelers. Their destinations include attractions located not only in the urban area like Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Wuhou Temple and Jinsha Site Museum, but also places nearby the city like Mt. Qingcheng and Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. Although a little expensive often combining entry ticket to attractions, it is still cheaper than traveling by taxi.

Ticket fare & How to Pay: Ticket fare is CNY 3 by cash and discount is the same with regular lines when using a transportation card, Wechat pay or Ali pay. Free ride is available between 05:00 to 07:00 with a transportation card.
In order to facilitate citizens to transfer to regular buses and subways, Chengdu public transport system operate more than 100 Community Shuttle Bus Lines. Generally speaking, the total run length doesn’t exceed 5 kilometers (3 miles). The community shuttle bus lines are numbered with four digits like 1001 and 1106.
Ticket fare & How to Pay: The opening time is mostly 07:00 to 19:00. Passengers can take it for free all day long using transportation card; if paying by cash, it is CNY2.

Ticket Fare: It is generally CNY 1 on common vehicles and CNY 2 on air-conditioned ones; some of the lines to suburban areas are charged by distance and the price can be a little higher. How to Pay: The fare can be paid by cash or transportation smart card. A discount of 10% or 50% is offered for those using a transportation smart card. Wechat and Alipay can also pay the ticket fare. You can also ask your Chinese friends for help, and download the app in advance and be familiar with the usage.
Notes:
1. Children below 1.3m (4ft) can ride all city buses for free;
2. When getting onboard, bring some loose change as some buses do not have a card reader or a ticket seller.

Is there any public night bus to shuangliu airport from central chengdu? The airport shuttles only seem to go into town. My flight is at 2 a.m.

00ReplyTake metro line 4 from the second hospital station to west Qingjiang Rd station, and take bus 736 to Shunjiang Community station, and walk around 50m to it. It takes around 1.5 hours with CNY6.

00ReplyIt means you can top up the cash in this transport card so that you don't need to buy the ticket when you take public transport. You can buy it in the airport and any human service center of metro station.

00ReplyYou can take Bus Line P60 from the university to Xipu Metro Station and then take Metro Line 2 to Chunxi Road, which is located at the city center.
