Yes, you need to do it. And a covid-test not older than 48 hours before boarding the flight is required instead of vaccines proof.

Registered Testing Centres
My company is applying for a PU letter to allow travel to China. My question is about test centres that are registered by the Chinese government in the UK to receive a pre travel covid tests. Do you have such information. I live in Scotland so a test centre here would be beneficial, however any registered test centre in the UK is fine.
Thanks

Sirkka Care in Edinburgh and Glasgow of Scotland has accredited testing centers. You can do the covid test to get the result the next day, or pay more for a test with result in the same day.

Ian, you should go to the visa center in Edinburgh. The application form can be filled out on the website of the visa center. However, currently it seems that the center is closed. So you need to check whether it is open for visa services before making the application.
