Day 1 Arrive in Hanoi
Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional tour guide and driver at the exit of the airport and then a comfortable private car ride will take you to the hotel. You may spend the rest of the day recovering from the jet lag.

Day 2 Hanoi
After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to learn about the life story of this great politician. You will also find the finest temple in Hanoi – the One Pillar Pagoda nearby. Then you will be led to the Temple of Literature, which is the earliest state-run academic institute in Vietnam, and afterwards, get to know the minority customs and culture at the Museum of Ethnology.

We will spend the whole afternoon strolling around the Old Quarter and have a short stay at the Hoan Kiem Lake. Then follows the unique Water Puppet Show, which demonstrates locals' agricultural life.

Day 3 Hanoi - Halong Bay
The coming 1.5 days' Halong Bay cruise will be one of the highlights of this 3-week holiday. At 08:00 in the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel and escort you to the pier to board a luxury cruise ship. The gorgeous karst landscape along the way, consisting of thousands of towering cliffs and emerald water, will surely overwhelm your eyes.

After sailing through the Bai Tu Long Bay, we will stop at the Cua Van Fishing Village, where you can take a kayak or sampan to tour around. The rest of the day will be free for you to enjoy the scenery onboard or do some entertainment activities.

Day 4 Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue
Enjoy the picturesque scenery along the Halong Bay in the morning. After brunch, you will disembark at the Halong Pier and your guide will transfer you to the Hanoi Airport to catch a flight to Hue. Upon landing, your Hue local guide will pick you up at the airport and escort you to the hotel.

Day 5 Hue
We will start the private Hue tour with the Imperial City featuring the grand royal palaces, temples and chambers. After that, take a boat trip on the Perfume River to the 400-year-old Thien Mu Pagoda. Then visit the Mausoleum of Tu Duc, which is more like a garden presenting delightful scenery. Next, continue the tour to the Hue Royal Palace and then hang out in the busy Dong Ba Market.

Day 6 Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An
After breakfast, we will set out for Hoi An by a private drive. En route, there will be a short stop at the Hai Van Pass for you to take in the view of the Da Nang City. As we pass by Da Nang City, we will spend some time relaxing at the Non Nuoc Beach as well as entering the Cham Museum to learn about the culture of this mysterious ethnic group. Also, you will be accompanied to climb the Marble Mountains, where many Buddha statues are enshrined in naturally formed caves on the cliffs.

We will finally arrive in Hoi An in the late afternoon. Your guide will help you check into a local hotel for 2 nights' stay in the city.

Day 7 Hoi An
Hoi An used to be a vital trading port in Southeast Asia during the 15th-19th centuries, with many Chinese and Japanese style buildings. After breakfast, we will start our one-day leisure tour of Hoi An Old Town. We will stop by a few Chinese-style sites, like Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Hall, and Tan Ky Ancestral House. As well your guide will lead you to take pictures at the Japanese Bridge. Afterwards, a boat ride will take you to an island village along the Hoai River.

Day 8 Hoi An - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, your guide will escort you to the airport in Da Nang for your onward flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, the local guide will pick you up at the airport, and then transfer you to the hotel.

After settled down, your private Ho Chi Minh City tour will start with the Tan Dinh Church which was painted pink from the inside out. Then you will be guided to the European-style Old Continental Hotel, the Opera House where you can enjoy fine goddess sculptures and various reliefs on the exterior walls, as well as the French-style City Hall.

Day 9 Ho Chi Minh City
Today, we will have a morning excursion to Cu Chi Tunnels, the underground military camp in the wartime, stretching for 250km (155mi) in total.

In the afternoon, you will be accompanied to visit the War Remnants Museum to view a large collection of old pictures and weapons. Then walk across a block to the Reunification Palace, which is the former presidential office. After that, continue to the classical Central Post Office, and then hang out along the Dong Khoi Street to enjoy the local night life.

What you may want to know about the Ben Thanh Market:
The Ben Thanh Market is divided into six areas: A, B, C, D, E and F. A&B areas are mainly for daily necessities; C&D for personal supplies and processed food, and E&F for fresh food ingredients. After 19:00, the famous Penang Night Market on both sides of the market sells all kinds of delicious food and daily necessities.

Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho
Today, you will have a full day exploring the primitive Mekong River Delta. Firstly, your guide will escort you on an hour's drive to My Tho Town. There, you will take a boat down the Mekong River to Ben Tre and visit the local factories producing coconut candy and rice paper. After that, continue the cruise trip through lush jungles. Then a private drive will take you to Can Tho City. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to check into a local hotel for one night's stay.

Day 11 Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap
In order to experience the bustling local floating market, we will start today's tour early around 06:00. Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and escort you to the Cai Rang Floating Market. Take a boat ride to join the busy fair, and stop by some villages afterwards.

At this point, your private Vietnam tour will come to an end. Your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City for a flight to Siem Reap. Meet your Siem Reap professional tour guide after landing and take a comfortable ride to the hotel.

Day 12 Siem Reap
Viewing the dazzling sunrise over Angkor Wat marks a great beginning of your private Siem Reap tour. The silhouette of the towering stupas and palaces against the faint light would definitely be one of the most unforgettable scenes of the whole journey. Then proceed to the Angkor Thom. After entering from the southern gate, we will firstly see the Bayon Temple, where 216 different smiling faces were carved on the four sides of the stupas. A few yards away are the Elephant Terrace and Terrace of the Leper King, featuring vivid reliefs of gods and devils.

On leaving the ancient city, we will continue to the Ta Prohm Temple, where python-like tree branches and roots blend in perfectly with old buildings. Then we will climb uphill to the Bakheng Temple and take in the great sunset view. Afterwards, round off the day with the Apsara Dinner Show.

Day 13 Siem Reap
Today's trip will start with the Preah Khan Temple. After that, you will be escorted to the gorgeous Banteay Srei Temple to appreciate the elaborate reliefs on the red-stone walls. On the way, we will pass by some local villages.

In the afternoon, we will drive back to visit the Rolous Group, the site of an ancient capital constructed during the 9th century. We will then have a short stay at the Orphanage School and afterwards, drive back to Siem Reap.

Day 14 Siem Reap - Luang Prabang
In the morning, you will be transferred to a Khmer Village to experience locals' lifestyle, and then take a boat ride on Tonle Sap Lake to visit a floating village.

Afterwards, your guide will escort you to the airport and help you board a flight to Luang Prabang. You will be warmly welcomed by the local guide at the airport and then be transferred to the hotel.

After breakfast, you will be led to the Royal Palace Museum to admire the imperial and religious articles and various precious Buddha statues. Then have a cruise down the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves, where over 8,000 Buddha statues are enshrined in two caves at the bottom of the vertical cliffs. En route, we will stop by the Ban Xang Hai Village famed for local rice whiskey called Lao-Lao.

After returning to Luang Prabang, we will proceed to the Ban Xang Khong Village to view the process of weaving fabrics, and then visit two distinctive Buddhist temples, Wat Mai and Wat Siphoutthabath.

Day 16 Luang Prabang
This morning, you need to get up early to attend the alms giving ceremony at around 05:30, which has been a local tradition for over 500 years. Then we will go back to the hotel for breakfast after strolling around the nearby Phousi Market.

Then we will set out for an ethnic village named Ban Ouay to immerse in the unique culture there. After that, continue our tour to Khouang Si Waterfalls where you can splash about in clear ponds at the bottom of the falls. A visit to another minority village, Ban Phanom Village, follows after.

After that, return to the downtown area and conclude today's journey with the Wat Xieng Thong, which is famous for luxury decorations and a mosaic mural called 'the Tree of Life'.

Day 17 Luang Prabang - Chiang Mai
After breakfast, your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for a flight to Chiang Mai. Meet the local driver upon arrival and then a comfortable drive will take you to a local hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to explore the surroundings.

Day 18 Chiang Mai
Today, you are going to have a full-day exploration of the Elephant Nature Park with your guide's company. There, dozens of retired or injured elephants are taken in and live a carefree life in the semi-natural environment. You will have a chance to get a close contact by touching and playing with them. At the end of the day, a private car ride will transfer you back to the hotel in Chiang Mai.

Day 19 Chiang Mai - Bangkok
After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to wander around the Waroros Market, brimming with local snacks and fruits. Then take a rickshaw to the Tha Phae Gate, the best-preserved gate of the Chiang Mai Old City. Your guide will walk you through the gate and then lead you to the Three Kings Monument and Wat Chedi Luang. Then round off Chiang Mai tour with Wat Phra Singh, where you can admire the statue of Phra Singh Buddha and elaborate murals portraying local ancient clothes and customs.

After that, you will be transferred to the airport and take a flight to Bangkok. Your local guide will pick you up at the airport and escort you to the hotel.

Today's morning tour includes the Wat Pho - enshrining Bangkok's largest reclining Buddha of 46m (50yd) long, the Grand Palace - the luxury chambers for royal family from 1782 to 1946, and the Wat Phra Kaew - housing a holy emerald Buddha.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat ride to cruise around a waterside community, Khlong Bang Luang, and stop at the Baan Silapin Artist's House. Then, return to the downtown area to visit Wat Arun and take pictures of the symbolic stupa inside.

Day 21 Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok
After breakfast, your guide will escort you to Ayutthaya by a private drive. We will visit Wat Yai Chaimongkol - an ancient Buddhist temple built in the mid-14th century. Then head to Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Srisanphet and stroll around the Muslim Quarter.

After that, take a luxurious cruise on the Chao Phraya River for the return trip to Bangkok. Lunch will be served onboard. You will be transferred to the hotel at 16:00 or so, and the rest of the day will be free for your own arrangement.
