Pandas & Golden Cities

Upon you arrival, our guide will meet you up at the exit of the airport. Then you will be sent to the hotel for check in. In the rest of the day you can have a good rest in the hotel room to get recovered from the long fly or stroll around on your own.

After enjoying buffet breakfast at the hotel, follow the guide to explore the charming city of Beijing. First we will come to Tiananmen Square. Located on the traditional central axis of Beijing, this world's largest city square holds many significant buildings including Great Hall of the People and Monument to the People's Heroes.

Located to the north of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City is a large wooden palace complex inhabited by emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 – 1911 AD). Your guide will show you around this spot next. Inside, there are also many treasures once belonged to the royal family on display. Besides, it’s also a great opportunity to learn about the royal life in ancient times. For instance, the studies on east side of the square between Gate of Heavenly Purity and Palace of Heavenly Purity composed the school for princes. The princes should get up at 3:00 am, and reached the study for learning at 5:00. There were cultural classes from 7:00 to 13:00, and they had to learn martial arts such as horse riding and archery in the afternoon. Worse still, the princes had no weekends but a few holidays like New Year, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.

At noon, we will offer you an a la carte lunch worth CNY 150 per person, which is included in the price. The guide will be glad to recommend you some local specialties and help you with the ordering.

In the afternoon, we will visit Hutong by rickshaw. Along the way, we will pass by the Shicha Lake, Yindingqiao, Yandai Xie Street, Drum Tower and Bell Tower. Also, we will go to visit a local family to learn the traditional Chinese folk art, paper cutting.

In the morning, we will drive about 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu is the longest section of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall and one of the best preserved sections. The scenic area is equipped with cable car, toboggan, and chairlift for the needs of your family members with different physical conditions. For the seniors, the cable car is better. For adults and brave kids, thrilling toboggan will leave a long-lasting memory.

In the afternoon, the guide will escort you to tour the Summer Palace, a wonderful imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty with delicate laid-out lake, pavilions, corridors, and palaces, etc. After the sightseeing, send you back to the hotel.

After having breakfast we will visit the Temple of Heaven. Here you can not only learn about the ancient Chinese royal sacrificial culture, but also see many local people exercising, playing chess, playing Taiji, dancing and so on. After that, you will have some free time to go anywhere you want in downtown area and the tour guide and the driver will accompany you all the way.

In the afternoon, you will be sent to the railway station for a high speed train to Xi'an. Upon arrival, our local guide will pick you up and escort you to the hotel.

In the morning we will drive to visit the Terracotta Army consisting of about 8,000 terracotta warriors and horses. What is interesting is that each statue has a unique appearance and facial expression, none of which is the same. If look carefully, you will find all the figures in the terracotta army have single eyelids, leading experts to speculate that 2,200 years ago, single eyelids were the norm for handsome men. After the visit, you will also have a chance to learn how to make terracotta figures.

In the afternoon, we will drive back to the city to visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. After, send you back to the hotel. At night, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda Square is very bustling, where all kinds of performances are held. If you are interested, you can stay there until night and then return to the hotel by yourself.

In the morning we will go to visit the Xi'an City Wall Park just outside the Xi'an Ancient City Wall. It is a popular place for local residents to do morning exercise and spend leisure time. After that we will go up to the city wall and you can take a sightseeing vehicle to tour around. Or, if interested, you can also rent bicycles to enjoy a cycling tour with your kids instead.

After the visit, we will visit the Great Mosque and explore the nearby Muslim Street for a simple lunch. After lunch, the guide will send you to the railway station for you to take another high speed train to Chengdu. Our guide based there will pick you up on arrival and transfer you to the hotel.

Today will be an unforgettable day for you will get the chance to join the volunteer activities and interact with the pandas closely. Your guide will wait for you in the hotel lobby at 7 am., then drive for about 1.5 hours to Dujiangyan Panda Base. Upon arrival, make registration at first. Then you can clean the panda house, make cakes for pandas, and feed the pandas under the panda keepers' guidance. At noon, enjoy authentic Chinese food as lunch. We will send you back to your hotel after the day's volunteer activities.

In the morning, we will visit Jinsha Site Museum, where a lot of golden wares and jade wares from Shang to Zhou Dynasty (17th century BC - 256 BC) are displayed. Then the guide will lead you to People's Park, where you will have a chance to see the featured blind dating corner. If you're lucky, you will also have a chance to admire the exhibition of chrysanthemums or lotus. After that, the guide will send you to the airport for you to fly to Shanghai. Upon landing, our local guide will pick you up at the airport and send you to the hotel.

Today we are going to visit the second tallest building in the world, the Shanghai Tower. Going up to the super-high viewing platform by elevator, you can have a panorama of Shanghai's cityscapes. At noon, you will have the opportunity to taste authentic Shanghai cuisine of a la carte style, and the cost is included in our price.

In the afternoon, the tour guide will escort you to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and Yu Garden. Yu Garden is a typical Chinese traditional garden with a history of more than 400 years, where you can enjoy amazing man-made landscapes and towering ancient and famous trees. Finally, we will take a walk along the Bund and enjoy the scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River.

Today, you can enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and make your own arrangements for the rest of the day. Shanghai is a charming cosmopolitan city with a lot to offer to its visitors.
